RSBAC 1.4.0-rc3 has been released for kernels 2.4.36 and 2.6.27. (Full announcement)

The first preview release of RSBAC 1.4.0 has been released.

It includes 1.3.6+ bugfixes of course, as well as the new Virtual User Management feature. This feature supports many virtual user sets in your system. Read more details here. Downloads at download#pre.

A new Live CD with RSBAC 1.3.6 is now available at http://livecd.rsbac.org/1.3.6. It also contains a partial copy of www.rsbac.org and download.rsbac.org, which are served out with a jailed Apache after boot. This means that this Live CD is bigger than usual. The new RSBAC book “Amon Ott: Mandatory Rule Set Based Access Control in Linux” covers all the concepts and background of the RSBAC framework as well as the RC model with AUTH and ACL. It can be ordered through your local book seller (ISBN 978-3-8322-6423-9) or directly from the publisher.

The table of contents, abstracts in German and English and an electronic version are available as PDF from the same page.

1.3.5 released

RSBAC 1.3.5 has been released for both kernels 2.4.34.5 and 2.6.22.1. (Full announcement)

  • Fixes compilation errors with some configurations.
  • Some safety mesures with null pointers.
  • Fixes an important bug with User Management password hashing, introduced by newer 2.6 kernel’s API.
  • Tool version string added to the rsbac_version command
  • Reverted RSBAC libraries to install in /usr, disrespecting FHS, as distributions and libtool cannot play well together. (this has to be done per distribution)
